Central Illinois Foodbank receives grant from Conagra Brands Foundation to help people who face hunger in central and southern Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, IL, (June 3, 2019) — Central Illinois Foodbank today announced a grant from Conagra Brands Foundation to help provide food to children and families facing hunger. This grant will enable the Foodbank to improve efficiency by way of technology using Link2Feed software. By reducing the amount of time agencies and Foodbank staff spend on paperwork, more time can be spent on other tasks that would better benefit the people being served.

“Hunger affects people from all walks of life in every county of the United States, including central and southern Illinois,” said Virginia Ferguson, Program Manager of Central Illinois Foodbank. “With the Conagra Brands Foundation’s commitment, we will be able to better serve children and families who may not know where they will find their next meal.”

One in 8 people in central and southern Illinois faces hunger. Conagra Brands Foundation has partnered with Feeding America®, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization, to help address this issue in local Conagra communities.

Central Illinois Foodbank is one of 31 Feeding America food banks that have received a capacity building grant, funded by the Conagra Brands Foundation.
