How to Get Help

At this time, the Foodbank's 160 partner agencies largely remain open. Many have changed their distribution models to enforce social distancing protocols (such as switching to a drive-through model or scheduling appointments) to better meet the demands of their communities.

If you or someone you know need food, you can find your nearest agency here. We strongly recommend calling before you go to confirm distribution dates/times.

How to Give Help


We are developing a list of volunteers who may be able to help with emerging needs. If you are interested in being added to this list, please fill out our Volunteer Application. 

**NOTE: We ask all volunteers and staff to stay home if they do not feel well, experience any symptoms of illness or if they have traveled to high-risk locations within the last 14 days.


The economic impact of COVID-19 is likely to increase rates of food insecurity in our communities. Closures of businesses and schools, social distancing, and self-quarantines may affect many of our neighbors, particularly the most vulnerable: older adults, health-compromised individuals, and hourly workers.

While all support is greatly appreciated, financial donations of any size will help support the Foodbank’s operations during this time of increased need.

Our Response

  • Purchasing additional food to support children and families to be distributed through agency partners
  • Holding drive-through distributions in high-need areas around our 21-county service area
  • Equipping vulnerable neighbors to find the food they need through both web- and text-based pantry locator tools

  • Providing microwavable meals to seniors in a high-rise apartment building with the generosity of a new private sector donor
  • Partnering with Springfield School District 186 to provide 500 bags of groceries to families while students were on spring break
  • Working with volunteers to assemble and distribute boxes to agencies and individuals in need

Impact on Foodbank Events

To ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, supporters and community at large, the Foodbank has made the following changes to upcoming events:

Ongoing Hygiene Standards and Safety Protocol

Hygiene standards and safety protocol per the CDC continue to be in place at the Foodbank.

  • We have increased the frequency of our cleaning processes to sanitize common areas in all facilities.
  • All volunteers are required to wash hands prior to entering and exiting the warehouse.
  • As per our usual policy, we continue to request that all guests, volunteers, staff, and neighbors remain at home if they are feeling ill.
  • We are screening volunteers and guests for travel to high-risk countries upon entry to facilities.
  • We recommend everyone follow CDC guidelines to help limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
